About Us

Carmel is the owner/operator of Dove Ceramics. She loves ceramics and is more than happy to help you, whether it’s to do your own colours or follow a design from the catalogues. Carmel is the heart of Dove ceramics and with her staff the enthusiasm to help in any capacity is well known. She encourages people to be forward thinking and we are always open to new ideas or any suggestions.

As Dove Ceramics and a member of the Victorian Hobby Ceramic Association, we are able to provide a vast selection of green ware and bisque, poured from many well known brand names of moulds. Our designs range from fantasy to functional. If you have a particular item in mind we’d be happy to help you with it, if it isn’t on the shelf we may have the mould in the factory and can prepare it for you. Also available is a vast range of stains, underglazes, glazes, ceramic tools and brushes. Giftware [cleaned, fired and painted products] for commercial and shop supplies are also part of our service.

The products we use are all brought in from a reliable and trusted company. The working area at dove is a comfortable area where everyone can express themselves. There is assistance around always and the staff are friendly and more than happy to help. The staff encompass people who have enormous experience in the field and are professionals who love their job and helping people.

One of our key staff member is Margaret. Margaret has been with the company for twelve years and has done her training under Carmel. She is very helpful when it comes to repairing pieces of loved ceramics when they have had a mishap and are either broken or chipped. Her skill in this department is second to none.

Margaret also has great skills when it comes to colours and her cheerful help is always appreciated.

Both Carmel and Margaret are at the moment doing their course for judging and soon will be fully qualified.

Classes are held at 10am on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and from 7pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Beginners through to the advanced hobbyiest are all made welcome.
